NO TIME TO LOOK THROUGH THE RACECARDS?

The ‘shortcuts’ are a quick way to get the headlines from the data.

I
f you want to see today’s top-rated horses without the
trouble of finding them, take a look at the shortcuts…

We have a shortcut for each of the four main ratings:

BE AWARE: The shortcuts are not tips. Do not back them blindly. They’re simply a way to find
the horses who have the best data on paper.

Think of the shortcuts like a shortlist. Each of these horses has clear potential based
on the data. But you should look into each horse individually and come to your own conclusion as
to whether they’re worth backing.

    Today’s Top Four LR Shortcuts:

These four horses have the highest Last Race (LR) rating out of all the other horses racing today. As the name suggests, that means they performed exceptionally well in their last race. Other ratings to consider this against are the 2LR and 3LR ratings; these indicate how well they ran in their 2nd and 3rd last race. A horse who has improved in each of these ratings is showing progression.

    Today’s Top Four SPD Shortcuts:

These four horses have the highest Speed (SPD) rating out of all the other horses racing today. Other factors to consider alongside the SPD rating is how well that horse has run over similar distances to its next race. Or any weight differences it’s carrying; more weight might slow it down, less weight could improve its speed.

    Today’s Top Four HRS Shortcuts:

These four horses have the highest Horse Race Score (HRS) out of all the other horses racing today. The HRS rating is compiled from many different form factors including course, distance, jockey, trainer, distance travelled, race recency and more. If a horse has a substantially higher HRS rating than any other in its racecard, it’s likely to be a strong contender.

    Today’s Top Four FRN Shortcuts:

These four horses have the highest Form Ratings Number (FRN) out of all the other horses racing today. You can find out more about our FRN rating here. If a horse has a substantially higher FRN rating than any other in its racecard, it’s likely to be a strong contender. Some of the best horses in the business have FRN ratings in the 700s.

    Today’s Progressive Shortcuts:

This shortcut looks for horses with progressive Last Run (LR) ratings across all of today’s racecards. To be progressive, a horse must have an LR rating that is higher than the 2LR, and the 2LR must be higher than the 3LR.
